This Bolo Knife was produced by Plumb in 1917. It has the ordnance bomb plus the Makers Name -Plumb -Phila. and date 1917 on the left side of the blade by the hilt. The right side has the US and serial number-42237 above the hilt. This is a big knife! the blade is 13 And 3/4 inches long. The widest part is 2 And 1/4 inches. The overall leanth is 19 And 1/2 Inches. The blade has never been sharpened. The right side of the blade is ground to a dull edge. The left side is untouched. There are no nicks or blade damage to the edge. The blade point is intact with no damage. The metal is in the white as well as the hilt. There is no discoloration or ageing to the metal. The blade has not been cleaned or refinished The wood handle is in as new condition. The brass rivits are in fine condition with no separation. The brass end cap of the grip is also in fine condition. The leather scabbard is in fine condition. There is one small area of stiching separation on the inside top tip of the scabbard. The leather is sound and supple. The scabbard was produced by Rock Island Arsenal  in 1915. It is seldom that a 1909 Bolo knife comes on the market in this fine of condition! Here is one of these Model 1909’s In this fine of condition! Would make a great display in any Military Collection!
